Episode 297: I’m Talkin. . .You

I’m Talkin’, episode 297, for December 24th, 2023.

This is Joel from the I’m Talkin’ microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.

This week we’re talking you.

Yes, you heard me correctly, I’m not talking about them, I’m not talking about us, I’m not talking about we, I’m talking about you.

I know it may feel a little self-centered, and we really are thinking about others’ perspectives and what they think of you, but it is a challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

As a Christian, we have to spend time thinking about whom do you represent?

And I’m really focusing on the singular, not as groups, but as you specifically.

And what you do, when you call yourself a Christian, makes a difference in the world in which you live.

It’s not that everything is about you, but it is kind of, because what people see in you, what do others feel about you, what do others think of you, makes an impact on how you represent Jesus Christ.

But the reality is that it’s not for your glory.

It’s not so you can feel better about yourself.

It’s not for you to puff yourself up.

It’s for you to put yourself last.

It’s for you to think of others first.

It’s for you to live sold out for God’s glory.

And that has been the theme of this microcast for this year.

My theme was to challenge Christian listeners to live sold out for God’s glory.

And Christian listeners, that’s you.

If you are not a Christian listener, well, I hope that you find Jesus Christ through this Christmas season, the baby that came in a manger, who came to save the world, so that you, too, can join the ranks of those who live sold out for God’s glory.
