Episode 351: I’m Talkin…Plan

I’m talking episode 351 for January 5th, 2025.

This is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.

This week, we’re talking plan.

So plan, uh, sounds like a good word to start out a new year and I’ll talk a little bit more about that as we go, but just thinking of the word, oftentimes plans are not made well.

And so it’s kind of like, uh, whatever feels good, whatever promotes you to a position maybe, or, or gets the best for you.

They can be very personal, um, even at the expense of others, maybe.

And you may get some input, you may seek some advice, and those are good things to do, but not always, because after all, it is about you.

And therein lies the challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

As Christians, we are never in life alone.

And sometimes that’s scary, but most of the time, the vast majority of the time, it’s great because we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

So when we are thinking of plans and we are making a plan for our future or, or just, you know, far into the distant future, or even just in the next week or whatever it happens to be, time-wise, we need to seek God.

And we also need to seek godly counsel from those of us, those surrounding us who we know are Christians and want the same thing that we do, which is a plan that brings glory to God for whatever it is that we’re trying to do.

And there is no such thing in a Christian’s life as a trivial plan, like, you know, what I’m going to do tomorrow.

All of it needs to include God.

We need to be focused on that.

We need to be praying about it.

Obviously, more time, more prayer for maybe long-distance plans or financial things, those kinds of things.

But even in what many would call trivial, God is involved in those because God is involved in every part of our life.

And so this year I’m trying to figure out what to do with my microcast.

And so I have asked people, my daughter, my wife, to see what ideas they might have because they also are Christians.

And I also have been praying about it.

What do I do?

Thinking about it, trying to figure out what I can do to continue to express my beliefs, express the importance that they are in my life, and to bring glory to God and bring encouragement to other Christians.

And so while I don’t have the plan completely set at the moment, this is a good kickoff word for the year and I look forward to what God brings in the next 51 episodes for this year and I’m looking forward to sharing that with you.

Until next week, this is Joel from the I’m Talking Microcast.
