Episode 410: I’m Talkin…Worry
I’m Talkin’, episode 410 for February 22nd, 2026.
This is Joel from the I’m Talkin’ microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.
This week, we’re talking worry.
When you think about the word worry, I think a few things come to mind.
One may be that you wish that you’d never had to do that.
But there’s generally a sense of concern about a situation, about a person, about a thing, whatever it is, and oftentimes it is a concern about your future or maybe about control or being, you know, out of control, not sure what you can do.
It kind of worries you because in your own power, you’re not sure what you can do to rectify a situation.
And therein lies the challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.
Today’s word comes from Matthew 6, verses 31 to 33, that says, So don’t worry about these things, saying, What will we eat?
What will we drink?
What will we wear?
Those things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the kingdom of God above all else.
Live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
This verse says don’t worry, but it doesn’t just say don’t worry, because sometimes people will say that to you and you’re like, How do I not do that?
But in these verses, God tells us how we can stop our worrying.
And it’s because He already knows all our needs.
He’s all-knowing, and He’s also sovereign, so He knows what we need, but He’s in control of everything.
And then beyond that, He is the provider of all we need.
And so don’t get wrapped up in what you want, He’ll give you.
This is not the word that’s used, it’s what we need.
But He says don’t worry because you’re heavenly Father.
So there is the basis of why Christians don’t need to worry.
How do we do that?
Scripture memorization is a good way.
Think of these verses from Matthew 6, and it says, He already knows all your needs.
Seek His kingdom above all else.
Those are simple instructions, sometimes hard to follow, but as a Christian, they will keep you from worry.
Until next week, this is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast.
