Episode 432: I’m Talkin…Show
I’m Talkin, episode 432 for July 26, 2026.
This is Joel from the I’m Talkin microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.
This week, we’re talking show.
Often when we hear the word show, we think of entertainment like a TV show or a movie or something like that, maybe a play.
But today I’m really talking more about show in the sense of demonstration or in the ability to learn something where someone is showing you how to do something.
And I find it interesting that most often when we use that word, we are doing something to get someone to be more self-reliant, to learn something that they no longer need us to perform that particular task or thing that we have shown them once or twice before.
And that self-reliance is a challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.
Today’s word comes from Psalm 16, verse 11, that says, You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
This is such a great verse with such great promise from our God.
But the fact is that and it really is saying what God will do for me.
It says you will show me the way of life.
And this is not so that we learn it on our own or that we don’t depend on him for knowing the way of life.
This is an everlasting dependence on a God who will continue to perform this act of showing us the will of life.
And then it says, granting me the joy of your presence.
That’s a forever thing.
God indwells in us.
And then it says the pleasure of living with you forever talks about our eternity and in heaven with Jesus Christ.
And this is evidence of a changed life, a life of joy, a life of pleasure, a life that has been shown to us and will be shown to us over and over again by the one and only God who has the power to do that.
You will show me the way of life.
Such a great scripture to lean on when you are a believer in Jesus Christ.
Until next week, this is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast.
