Episode 435: I’m Talkin…He

I’m talking, episode 435 for August 16th, 2026.

This is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.

This week, we’re talking he.

Strangely enough, we are talking about a pronoun, just the word he.

And in today’s times, we live in a pronoun world.

In applications, in information online, whatever, people are asked, What is your pronoun?

And it’s always an interesting trip.

It’s like, what do people want to refer to themselves as?

And sometimes I think it’s a matter of maybe drawing attention or not being sure in your identity, and therein lies the challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

Today’s word comes from Proverbs chapter 2, verses 6 through 8 that says, For God grants wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

He grants treasures of common sense to the honest.

He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

He is a guard to the path of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.

These verses start out with who God is.

He grants wisdom.

That’s where wisdom comes from.

It comes from God.

When God opens his mouth, what do we get from that?

We get knowledge and understanding.

And then it says, Because we believe that is who God is, this is what he does for us.

He grants treasures of common sense to the honest.

He’s a shield to those who walk with integrity.

He guards the path of the just.

And then it says, He protects those who are faithful to him.

This is who God is.

This is what he does.

This is what he promises to us.

The most important pronoun in the world today is he.

That is in reference to God.

He made you who you are.

He gives us life to live as who we are.

He has defined my pronoun, and I can stand in that and live in that because of the things that he has promised: the treasures, the protection, the shield.

He is definitely greater than I.
