Episode 446: I’m Talkin…Prepared

I’m talking.

Episode 446 for November 1, 2026.

This is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.

This week we’re talking prepared.

This word prepared is a really common word, I think, in our English language, and it really talks about being ready for things.

And, you know, in life on a regular basis, we need to prepare for things.

You know, if we’re in school, we might be preparing for the day or maybe for a test.

But the idea is to be ready, to be available to do something.

And oftentimes it leans on being self-reliant, as in that how prepared we are really depends on us.

And other things that we prepare for really depend on us.

And even though some of the things that we prepare are really cool, it still leans back towards us.

And therein lies the challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

Today’s word comes from 1 Corinthians 2, verses 9 and 10, that says, That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit.

For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

I seem to repeat myself often by saying this is a really cool verse, and sometimes you might say, Well, is there any other in God’s Word, and can it be any other way?

But the fact is, when we think of the word prepared, And we look at this set of verses, we can’t not see who is doing the preparing, and that preparation is being done by God.

And what does it mean to us?

Well, it says, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can even imagine what God has prepared for those who love Him.

So when we think of our future in heaven with Him, it’s not something we can even imagine.

And the preparation that we have to do to meet God where He’s at is really all in His calling us.

But the neat thing is that God then provides us His Spirit that shows us all of His deep secrets.

Even though we can’t still imagine what He has prepared for us, we can know who He is to some extent.

We can know what He wants for our life to a greater extent, and then we get to play in the imagination of what God has prepared for those who love Him and live accordingly.

Until next week, this is Joel from the I’m Talking Microcast.
