Episode 447: I’m Talkin…Price

I’m Talking, episode 447 for November 8, 2026.

This is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast, where I share my thoughts on a topic that has piqued my interest this past week.

This week, we’re talking price.

Price is a word that we use all the time.

It’s really a very simple word, and in our consumer-facing world that we live in, price is often at the top of the list when we talk about what we’re trying to purchase or what we’re searching for online, and, oh, we got a little bit better price over here or a different price over here.

And looking for the least significant or the cheapest price is what we often do, and therein lies the challenge for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

Today’s word comes from 1 Corinthians 6, verses 19 and 20, that says, Don’t you realize that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?

You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price.

So you must honor God with your bodies.

So the first thing the verse says to us is, asks us a question, Don’t you realize?

So it’s asking us to think about something as Christians, and it says that God lives inside of you in the form of His Holy Spirit, and we must come to that recognition as Christians.

We must understand that we have the power of God inside of us, and when we recognize that, we will see that we no longer belong to ourselves because the price that was paid by God for us to have the Holy Spirit living in us was such a high price.

He sent His one and only Son to the cross to die for our sins.

He paid the ultimate price.

As a parent, you understand that with how you want to protect your children.

And because of the price that God has paid, and because of the love He has for us by putting Himself through His Holy Spirit inside of us, all He wants from us is to honor God with the body that He indwells.

That’s not always easy to do, but Scripture helps us to live that out, and the power of the Holy Spirit to understand God’s words help us to live that out.

So what are we to do?

Honor God with our bodies.

Until next week, this is Joel from the I’m Talking microcast.
